HealthCampRDU - Three Channels of Personal Health Engagement

A one-day user organized "un-conference" that brings together consumers, providers, health industry experts and technologists to openly exchange views and ideas in a dynamic environment.

HealthCamp is an international movement that is a catalyst for engagement in vitality, wellness and health care. HealthCamp is not just a conversation. It is a call to action encouraging grass roots involvement to initiate and sustain positive change that improves health and wellness in our communities.

The 3 Channels of Personal Health Engagement that are the focus of HealthCampRDU are:

  1. Mobile (compliance, activity recording, consumer support at the point of care)
  2. Telemedicine (eVisits, ePrescribing and online care)
  3. Social Medicine (crowd sourcing and shared wisdom)

This event is being made possible through the support of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina as our Foundation Sponsor. For more information check out the HealthCampRDU Wiki, courtesy of SocialText.

Whether you are a consumer, patient, caregiver, doctor, nurse, developer, entrepreneur or health care industry professional everyone has something to add to the vitally important conversation that is shaping vitality and healthcare in this country and around the world. Health Care affects every one of us and the challenges are too complex to be solved by any one organization acting alone.

The one day event is being held at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina UP2 Building in Durham, NC on Friday May 14th. A Pre-event networking meeting will also take place on the previous evening - Thursday, March 13th. Watch out for details about that event.

In the past 18 months over 1,000 people have attended HealthCamps in North America and Europe. Join in and experience probably one of the most rewarding and dynamic conference events you will attend this year.

Why is a HealthCamp so dynamic?

A HealthCamp event is a dynamic event because the audience is directly involved in determining, presenting and participating in the sessions. The day starts off with the creation of the agenda by the participants. You can always find something of interest because you can suggest and lead a session. Don't worry - You don't have to be an expert to lead a session. We have found that many of the best sessions at HealthCamp spring from participants who lead a discussion on a topic where they have questions and engage others in developing answers.
